This sandy loam is ideal as an underlay for new turf or for top-dressing established lawns.
It is suitable for most types of turf, and being a fast-draining soil will promote deep root growth. It can be used safely at higher depths than other soils without the need for excessive compaction.
Due to its good drainage properties, sandy loam is ideal for areas built upon a clay base, but it is not recommended in areas with a naturally sandy base.
